Jim Dondero, president of Highland capital management partnered recently with the Dallas Foundation, an organization that helps manage charitable giving. Jim says that they were looking for a partner to manage their annual felt philanthropic giving that had reached more than $3 million. They wanted to make sure that the money they were giving had the most impact so they partnered with the Dallas Foundation. They are the oldest community foundation in the state of Texas. They connect donors with nonprofits in the local community.
In 2011, Jim Dondero formed the Highland Santa Barbara foundation which has distributed over $1 ½ million to 27 charitable organizations. They support charitable organizations involved with education youth development and veteran support. Highland Capital is also involved in the Kansas City Foundation, which supports charities in the Kansas City area.
